Welcome to River Heights

K1(formerly known as JK) Registration runs January to mid February each year.

Here you will find valuable information needed regarding our K1 registration process, as well as important dates to complete the steps for a smooth start to your child's first day at River Heights.

Our Kindergarten program is designed to help your child learn the skills to begin a lifetime of successful learning.

January - February Registration begins

You have the option to complete your registration online or at the school. Please remember whichever option you choose, that your registration will be considered complete upon receipt of proof of birth and address. Your child does not need to attend this step of the registration process. Please click on the link to register for Kindergarten.

August - early September Completing online and other tasks

This is the month you will be busy with registering new accounts and verifying information. Please wait until you have received email notification saying that your student's information is now active, this typically happens early August.

Parent Portal Instructions - included in this task is verifying your emergency contact information, parental consents, registering for School Cash Online and School Messenger (attendance program).

May 29, 2023 Come for a visit

On May 29, 2023 you and your child (JK) are welcome to come and meet some of our staff in our lovely Peace Garden. Although this session is brief, it helps to relieve any anxiety parents and/or their child may have towards their first day of school. This opportunity will give you a chance to discuss issues like: allergies, transportation/walkers pick up information, custody, or any special concerns you might have. Please note, it is a policy of our board that parents and students will not be informed of class placement until the first day of school and not before. This is due to the fact that class placement changes happen right up to the first day of school. There is no need to RSVP for this session.

June 22, 2023 Year end BBQ

- please join us from 5:30-7:30 (visit a kindergarten classroom from 5:30-6:30 to get an idea of what a kindergarten classroom looks like)

September 6, 2023 First Day of School for SK (Year 2)

Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at 8:55 a.m. is your SK child(ren)'s first day of school. (No JKs on the first day)

JK's (Year 1s) will come gradually over the following two days Thursday or Friday (you will receive your start date shortly).
